We should've registered at Lowe's

Wednesday, April 21, 2010 |

After two weeks of painting and renovating our condo, I realized that registering at Lowe's would've made sense. We finished painting the entry, hallway, kitchen (even behind the fridge!) and the dining room. The living room, bathrooms and bedrooms are the left. We need to replace some lighting and fixtures in the bathroom, and then probably tear down my closet in the second bedroom. Then we can put the condo on the market.

And start all over with a new house.

After 17 months of planning for a wedding and two receptions, it's all done! Thank you to everyone who could make it to any of our events, especially to our parents and sisters. Thank you to everyone who flew to Kauai to watch us get married. I may have griped along the way, but it was worth it and I'm so glad Drew and I made it official in front of you.

And thank you to the people who made it to the Anchorage reception. We finally got to have our first dance (to Josh Ritter's "Temptation of Adam," which is more of a sad love song than a happy one, but we both adore the song & even got to hear Josh sing it live).

Amazingly, we had delicious cake at both events. And, even more amazingly, we didn't meet the bar tab at both events.

And I'm going to keep this domain, updating it with news and photos. Stay tuned.

My sister's 3 cranes!

Monday, January 4, 2010 |

My sister posted a picture of her three paper cranes, so I thought I'd share it with all of you. I have Audry's cranes at home and I know at least one more guest has finished his. We're off to a great start!

Also, I'm having my wedding jewelry made by Annie Ciszak Pazar, who owns Bella Boutique in Anchorage. For those in Anchorage, visit her because her jewelry is fabulous. And for prospective brides, Annie is accommodating and awesome.

Cranes complete!

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 |

One-thousand cranes folded.

Now where do I put them?

And wedding plans are coming together nicely. Drew and I are excited to get away and go hiking on the Na Pali coast, Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge and visit the Waimea Canyon. Oh, and lay out on beaches and catch up on reading.

I finally booked Brian Adams' ticket to Kauai, so expect tons of beautiful photos when we return!

250 Cranes To Go ...

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 |

As of now, I have 750 cranes folded. Just 250 left.

That means the wedding/reception planning is falling into place. For those who've been asking, the best time to come would be from Saturday, Feb. 20 - Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Now is time to book at the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa because they're having a buy-two-nights-get-the-third-for-free deal. Also, for you Lower 48 folks, you're lucky. There are some crazy deals to Hawaii.

For those who are attending the Anchorage reception, plans are coming together for that. I've chosen a venue and I'm working on the decorations.

See you all soon!

Dates!

Monday, December 8, 2008 |

We've finally set dates for the wedding and reception. For the wedding, we think Feb. 22, 2010, which is a Monday, but that doesn't matter when you're on vacation. Plus we thought we could accommodate the people who couldn't stay long. For the Anchorage reception, we set it for Saturday, March 13. See you there!
